Nice to meet you all!
I've just ordered the VK back issue and happily awaiting for the pattern! Meanwhile thinking about the colors matching thing... how to turn it into a bit more 'oriental'? And happy to meet you all!
Welcome Amy, I have yet to start my shrug, trying to clear some other projects first, but have my yarn in the original colourway. Have you decided on your oriental colours yet, perhaps red, black & gold?

I agree that Red and gold are the way to go with a black contrast color. I would recommend LL's Flames and Charcoal
